Teflon Tape
Teflon tape & PTFE adhesive tape - What's the difference?
Teflon tape or Teflon adhesive tape is the common reference to what is PTFE adhesive tape, which is a PTFE coated glass cloth with an adhesive system on one side.
Teflon is the registered trade mark of Du Pont for PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and can only be used to advertise products if the correct permissions are given by Du Pont to use it's brand. Techbelt does not have these permissions and is not an any way linked to Du Pont, therefore we cannot advertise our product as a Teflon tape.
The name Teflon has become a household brand and is associated with non stick pans and cookware, this is the same case for PTFE adhesive tapes where teflon tape has become the common reference which is, in most cases, incorrect.
As we are not able to use the Du Pont brand name, our PTFE adhesive tape is marketed and sold under our Tefsil brand which is a registered trade mark of Techbelt.
The principle formula, and raw material that go in to making Teflon tape & Tefsil tape, will be almost identical and give a comparable performance - just two different brand names for PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) adhesive tape.
Many companies advertise "Teflon tape", this is usually done because this is the common term and not because it's a Du Pont specifc product, which is a common mistake. PTFE adhesive tape (Tefsil Tape) is offered from Techbelt, from stock, and is available in a number of thicknesses and widths to suit your specific application.
